Happy New Year to everyone!

Covid-19 update
Further to my previous update, we have now received more details from the LTA regarding the current guidelines.
Please remember that NO doubles play is permitted, and NO mixing in singles play or swapping courts. Each member can only meet to play with ONE other person from a different household in any booking period.
Only TWO players should be on any court at any time – the only exception is where ALL players are from the same household. NO spectators are allowed – if you are not on court, you should not be at the Club!
Unfortunately, not everyone reads the newsletter so if you see anyone not adhering to the guidelines please inform them and also let me know. If we are found to be in breach of the rules, there is a danger we could be fined and/or closed!
Full guidance for playing tennis can be found using the links below:

Poem
A final poetic reflection on 2020 from Tim Allen, looking forward to better times in 2021.

Lockdown Blues at Christmas

Tiers are NOT our only consolation
They steal away all of our elation
I am getting far too old
To put my life on hold
And some of you must surely feel the same
As you serve a double fault and lose the game
At least we still, instead of smashing fist into wall
Can take out our anger on a defenceless tennis ball
But why one against one when we want two against two?
S**T!!! We’ll scream out for joy when all this is through
But we’re closer in spirit now at our little club
Friendships are stronger—there’s even more love
But what a price it is to pay
Till our next Finals Day
