Following the Government statements last week, the Club will be reopening some facilities when the national lockdown ends on 2 December 2020. Although subject to approval in parliament on 1 December and full guidance from the sports governing bodies, we plan to open as follows:
Tennis courts are available to book for both singles and doubles play from 0700 on Thursday 3 December 2020. Singles league matches can recommence in order to complete the last round – deadline Sunday 20 December 2020.
Courts 3, 4, 6, 7 have all had additional clay brushed in and been relevelled. The LED floodlight conversion is due to commence tomorrow – the good news is that we are now completing Courts 3, 4, AND 5 as we were able to negotiate a price reduction.
There will be a further update on Friday regarding club play and the American Doubles Tournament scheduled for Friday 11 December 2020.
All tennis coaching activity will recommence from Thursday 3 December – you can book Drop-in sessions here. Please contact Toby directly for individual lessons on 07545 333535.
Unfortunately, the squash courts will not reopen fully under Tier 2 restrictions. However, there is some permitted activity – solo practice, players from the same household (ie Partner members), and adapted play in the ‘sides’ format within a squash bubble.
Therefore, the squash courts can be booked during the following periods for these purposes only: Saturday 0900-1500, Sunday 0900-1500, Monday 0900-1300, Wednesday 1700-2100, Friday 1400-1800. Please email me to book, and for information regarding ‘sides’ and squash bubbles.
The clubhouse and bar will remain closed, except for Witty Kiddies pre-school, until further notice. We are still awaiting confirmation whether yoga classes can take place.
