Covid-19 guidelines and updated advice
The Government announcement on Wednesday was a timely reminder that we all need to continue to adhere to general guidance on public health. In fact, some of this guidance will be the law from Monday 14 September, so there is even more need for vigilance.
Fortunately, most activities at the Club are unaffected by the update, but perhaps some compliance may have slipped! Please read the latest advice for players from governing bodies regarding hygiene and safe practice:

Squash & Racketball
The good news is that, in line with the latest advice, we are able to move to the next stage of reopening the squash facilities. From Saturday 12 September courts will be available to book throughout the week for a trial period.
S&R members will receive a separate email with full details of the rules of use and court booking guidelines. It is important that members follow these guidelines, so that we can keep the facilities open after such a long time out of action.

Ann De Klerk
Finally, some sad news. I have just found out that long-time Club supporter Ann De Klerk passed away recently. Her son, Roger, was a member until tragically killed in a road accident around 10 years ago.
Roger was a regular attendee at club night on Wednesday evening. After his death, she sponsored a tournament every year for the Improver/Intermediate players. This year’s competition is planned for early October as a one-day event.
