Reminders

A further Government announcement on the lockdown is expected on Thursday this coming week. We will make a statement as soon as possible afterwards regarding any changes to the Club’s status, taking into account any advice from our sports governing bodies.

There are still a few slots remaining in the Bank Holiday Quiz on Friday 8 May. The format is teams of no more than FIVE players with a nominated captain. You will need to be available for a timed slot of an hour between on the day.
The Quiz will be hosted on Zoom, so those of you who haven’t used it already will need to download to your laptop or mobile device. Entry is £10 per team to support the Club during lockdown – contact me for more details or to book your place.

Another poem…
Club Chair Gillian Bartlett sent me the following entitled Lockdown Tennis:

Rackets standing in the hall
Waiting quietly

Courts locked and padlocked
Blossom drifting

Players patiently watching
Clouds passing

And imagining
The pink sand in their shoes
The hot dusty courts
The fresh smell of cut grass
The crack of balls on rackets
The shouts and laughter

And they wait
For the time
When
The lockdown
Will
End

Keep safe and well
