Thank you…
Many thanks to all who played over the weekend for adopting the safe practices we put in place to allow Singles play. It was great to see the courts back in use, and I think I got to say hello to everyone.
Remember, if we stick to safe play and social distancing guidelines, we may be able to relax the rules over the next few weeks to open up more facilities – as always I’ll keep you up to date with the latest guidance.
The LTA have released a poster to simplify the current restrictions – https://www.lta.org.uk/globalassets/venue/support-your-venue/documents/venue-poster—playing-tennis-during-lockdown.pdf

Tennis court booking
One of the key points that came out over the weekend was access to booking courts. We changed the court booking rules several months ago to allow each member TWO booking slots, of up to 90 minutes, in any 7 day period. This was to make court booking fairer, especially in busy periods when club play, coaching and matches were taking place.
Obviously, the situation is a bit different at the moment, and we now have five courts available to book at all times from dawn to dusk! Therefore, the court booking system will now allow THREE bookings per 7 day period. Please book courts and do not just turn up to play, as this forms part of our contact tracing if required.

Maintenance
The four clay courts are being maintained this week, which is why courts 3 & 4 are out of action on Wednesday. The courts are being decompacted, filtered and relevelled, which should improve the playing experience.

Club Manager hours
A reminder that I’ll be at the Club as follows this week to answer any queries and for the sale of tennis balls: Wednesday 1300-2100, Friday 1600-2000, Saturday 0800-1700, Sunday 0800-1700. Ring the doorbell for attention.

Keep safe and well
