Club statement – 11 May 2020

Following the Government statement last night, I thought I would put out a brief note to quell the potential deluge of enquiries.

Please note that there is no change at present to the Club status, and we remain in full lockdown until further notice.

We are awaiting an update from the LTA in the next couple of days regarding the resumption of tennis. Unfortunately, squash and racketball would appear to be off the radar for the moment, but the Croquet Association may have further news this week.

The Government statement intimated that tennis may be playable from Wednesday 13 May. However, the restrictions are that only players within the same household can play together, which will not benefit the vast majority of our members.

Once we have all relevant information, we will make appropriate decisions on a course of action as soon as possible and keep all members informed.

Therefore, I ask that you remain patient for a few more days so that we can put together a plan of action for the Club.

Many thanks again for your co-operation and in the meantime, please take care of yourself and be considerate to others.
