Following the Government statement on Friday, there are further important changes regarding operations at the Club in addition to our previous emails.

Squash and racketball sections will now close until further notice, as well as access to the changing rooms and toilets.

The start of the Croquet season will be postponed – the chalet has to be closed until further notice and we cannot ensure the lawn preparation.

Tennis can continue at present – the court booking system will remain open and individual coaching is available. However, there are strict guidelines on social distancing practices.

Key social distancing advice for playing tennis:
> only travel to the Club in a way compliant with social distancing advice
> adopt social distancing measures at all times, ie spending no more than 15 minutes within a 2-metre distance
> if you are not confident that you can adhere to guidance in doubles format, play with only two players per court
> players are advised not to change ends during play
> ensure no physical contact between players at all times
> allow players to exit courts at a safe distance when changing over between booking periods

Whilst club play sessions will remain available there will be some further restrictions. Floodlighting will only be available on Courts 1/2 and there will be slight amendments to club play times – see the court booking system and posters at the Club for details.

The clubhouse foyer will remain open via keypad for information, recycling of tennis balls, Court 1/2 light meters, and visitor book. However, please ensure only one person is in the foyer at any time.

If you have any questions, I will be available in the clubhouse as follows – Wednesday 1800-2100, Saturday 0900-1500, Sunday 0900-1600. You can still buy snacks and soft drinks to take out, as well as tennis balls and accessories. Please ring the door bell for attention.

These actions are to comply with Government guidance, and we remind all members to follow all current Government guidelines and advice in order to support the national effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

We will be sending out another email soon regarding membership subscriptions, so please do not take any action on your membership until then.

Many thanks again for your co-operation.
