Membership fees for 2020

The Club Board of Directors approved new membership fees last week – a full list can be found here. There are two significant points detailed further below, which we believe will offer a better experience for members going forward.

Squash/Racketball members will now have a separate court fee added to their membership. This fee will cover the heating, lighting and ventilation systems. The coin meters will be replaced with a simple on/off switch – so no more small change needed!
The court fee is £80 per member – the equivalent of the cost of one match per week for 40 weeks of the year. We think this is very reasonable and is possible because of the reduced costs of the LED lighting installed earlier in the year. This change will also facilitate moving onto a new court booking system soon, which will be free to use too!
So, in fact, there is now an incentive to play as much as you want at no additional cost!!! All members will receive an email over the coming week explaining how the changes will affect their membership.

Tennis members have seen only minor increases in fees over the last few years – only £4 since 2015 for Adult Tennis. During this period value has been added to your membership by removing court booking fees and the cost of floodlighting in club play sessions. Not forgetting the £90,000 investment in four clay courts, which I’m sure everyone will agree a major benefit!?
Therefore, this year the Club has decided to reset all tennis-related fees, but the additional income raised will be further invested in the playing facilities. The Club is committed to installing LED floodlighting on Courts 3/4, plus cleaning, repairing and repainting all three hard courts to improve the playing surfaces.
As a example, the Adult Tennis fee will increase from £300 to £320, but we do not envisage any further significant increases over the next few years. From 1 April 2020, as a consequence of these changes, floodlighting will be free to use on all courts at all times!
