This year the Club has made an investment of £27,000 in the squash section facilities. This recognises the success in developing squash at the club over the last couple of years and supports continued growth in the future.
Since the summer there has been considerable work undertaken on the exterior of the squash courts building. The roof cladding was replaced to weatherproof the building and provide better insulation. New PVC windows replaced the old, rotten wooden frames in the changing rooms. To complete the improvements an extractor fan will be installed providing better air circulation and ventilation to the male changing rooms.
Court heating and repairs
The Club has just agreed the installation of a new heating system which should ensure the courts are maintained at an appropriate temperature for a better playing experience. Installation is scheduled for the first week of January 2017 – in time for the depths of winter!
The crack in the side wall on court 2 will be repaired at the end of January and both courts will have the front walls fully resurfaced with a protective coating. New tins will be fitted at the same time. The work due to be completed by mid-February.
In view of these considerable improvements to our facilities the club is confident members will fully understand the need for a modest increase to subs for next year .
