Welcome to Susan Finch

The club is delighted to welcome Susan Finch our new Club Manager who joined us on 1st July.

Susan’s duties will broadly follow those detailed in the 10-year Business Plan unanimously agreed by members at the special meeting in June 2013. It has taken a long time to get here but we want nothing but the best for our members.  Susan’s updated job description is available for information in the members area of the website.

The Board is confident that with Susan we have found the best.  She brings 13 years of club management experience gained in posts at The Parklangley Club, Sundridge Park, Kent County LTA, and Bromley Tennis Centre. She has decided to go part-time so that she can do more of the things she really enjoys in life, including tennis (of course).  She plays for the women’s teams at Parklangley and will continue to work for the LTA as a licensed (R3 Grade) Tennis Referee.  She also has experience as a squash/tennis parent with both her son and daughter having competed nationally and been county champions in their respective sports.

In a separate contract with the club, Susan is taking over the supervisor role for Improver & Intermediate club play on Wednesday evenings from 8th July.  Hopefully her appointment for two hours (18:00-20:00) each week will enable her to spend more time meeting and greeting new members and advising on levels of play.  The supervisor’s job description is available for information in the members area of the website.

Speaking earlier this month, Susan said “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work at Sydenham. I can’t wait to get started, so don’t be surprised if you see me around later this month. And I look forward to meeting as many members as possible, including those from the squash, racketball, and croquet sections, once I start for real in July.”
