Sydenham Tennis, Squash and Croquet Club (SLTCC Ltd) is taking part in this year’s Sport Relief (3) Mile Run, and we can proudly announce our runners as being Matthew Radford, Jeff Richards, Harry Cole, Patrick Brooks, Andy Butterton, Barbara Seabrook, Clare Gordon & Emma Lunn!

Sport Relief is a unique and historic charity full of courageous and extraordinary people, dedicated to making a difference – from David Walliams’ swim across the English Channel, to Eddie Izzard’s amazing marathon a day around the UK.

The Mile Run will take place in Beckenham’s Croydon Road Recreation Park (BR3 3QL) and our members have signed up to do the 3 mile run, starting at 11am on Sunday 21st March.

Whilst we appreciate the past few years have been tough on everyone economically, we shouldn‘t forget those less fortunate, and that’s why we are asking you to help contribute to Sport Relief, by sponsoring our team.

Donating is easy! All you have to do is visit:

www.JustGiving.com/SydenhamTennis

for fast, secure and reliable credit or debit card donations. Also, a further 25% can be claimed from your donation if you are a UK taxpayer!

All the money raised is spent by Sport/Comic Relief to help transform the lives of poor and vulnerable people, both here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

Any contributions from £1 to £100 would be very much appreciated by SLTCC & Sport Relief.

Thanking you in advance.

Warm Regards, Lawrence J. Ireton, Company Secretary

So it looks like the worst of the cold weather is behind us.  Some of the courts still have patches of slush but the rain forecast for tomorrow (16th January) should wash this away. The forecast for Sunday looks good so all being well we can dust off the rackets and get playing again!

Snow at sltcc

Snow at sltcc, 08/01/2010

So it’s been snowing. As you can see it’s going to be a good few days (a week!?) at least until there is any opportunity to get out on the tennis courts. Don’t forget we have two squash courts where you can play racket-ball . If you’ve never played give it a try! It’s easier to play than squash and great for fitness whilst you wait for the snow to go.

If you play in any of the leagues these will undoubtedly be extended so don’t panic just yet!

As always, if you’ve got any questions just email info@sltcc.co.uk
