Reopening news…
Phase 2 of the Covid-19 roadmap that started on Monday 12 April has three main areas that affect operations at the Club…
1. Squash courts are allowed to open for use by individuals or same household groups. Therefore, only solo practice or games between members of the same household/support bubble is permitted. The definition of a support bubble is very specific and you must ensure you meet the criteria – see Government guidance here. Members wanting to play under current restrictions should contact me for further information and court availability.
2. Although bars are now allowed to open for outdoor consumption, there are a lot of restrictions around opening up such areas. The Bar Committee will meet on 28 April to discuss the way forward, and until that time we will continue to serve soft drinks only from the bar for takeaway when I am on site. Members should not use the seating areas as the rules around no spectators are still in place.
3. Changing facilities are now allowed to reopen, but we are asking that members avoid using where possible and arrive ready to play. In all circumstances the changing rooms should only be used on a one-in, one-out basis. The showers will remain closed.

Tennis club play
Tennis club play will recommence on Sunday 18 and Wednesday 21 April. All members are allocated to one of the club play sessions – please contact me if you are unsure which session to attend. However, due to current restrictions and guidance, we will be operating a booking procedure for club play until further notice.
There will be two 90 minute slots available in each club play session. You will only be able to attend one slot, and we ask that you only book if you can play for the full session so that it is fair to other players in the session.
Sunday will be split into 0900-1030 & 1030-1200, and Wednesday into 1800-1930 & 1930-2100. Please arrive as near to the start time as possible to minimise the number of people off court. Hopefully, this will only be short-term and we can get back to normal soon!

Tennis Team Training
There will be two tryout sessions for anyone interested in playing for the Club in the Kent leagues. Both sessions run from 6.30-8.00pm: Women – Tuesday 20 April; Men – Tuesday 27 April.
